Production Carry Optics
The new Production Optics division is in test for 2 years, so I decided to try to shoot a few matches in this division.
I equipped my old CS SP01 Shadow (which I use as a mullet if I ever had a problem with my Shadow 2 … It cannot happen :-)) a red dot mounted on the dovetail of the SP01. I found a mounting plate at CZ-USA that was pre-holed for some red dot. Obviously not for the one I wanted to install … The Red dot Shield Mini Sight 4 MoA, I bought at Alfa Precision. But luckily the Shield has the same assembly as another red dot, no drilling required, it’s gone alone 🙂
Without parallax, transparent polymer optics can withstand impacts up to ten times greater than conventional glass
The body is molded from a light polymer, the electronic circuit detects the light level and automatically adjusts the intensity of the LED, giving optimal visibility of the point on the target. I would have preferred with a switch but the real problem in this division is the lifetime of the red dots.
It is not like in Open Division where the red dots are mounted on the carcass and do not undergo the cycles of the gun, it is necessarily mounted on the slide. Either directly on the dovetail or on a mounting plate. In USPSA they have the right to machine the slide to fix the red dot. As it is not yet clear what can be done in IPSC I did not want to machine the slide of my SP01, it is less aesthetic, a little higher on the hand but I’ll start like that.
I have already shot about 400 rounds with, no problem, it is still alive. If it managed to survive Remy’s crazy index, my poor slow double taps would have gone well!
I must relearn the acquisition, I often search for the red dot … But what a joy not to have to align the sight as in Production ! 🙂

I signed up for the Extreme Euro open 2018, which takes place in the Czech Republic in the Production Optics division. Eastern countries announce all LV3 with this new division. What will we do in France and Germany (Infinity Open)?
So I have a few months before June 2018 to familiarize myself with this assembly and arrive with a little practice.
