Champagne Trophy 2024 – A crazy one !

I shot last weekend the Champagne Trophy 2024 L3 IPSC Handgun match. As always in Vertus, there was a world class organisation ans stages very well designed. The STC Vertus team set the bar very high again this year. The weather was very good a little bit hot at the end of the day but we avoid the rain that was forecasted. I got it severely during the travel back home but not during the match.

Impressive Hit Factor stages

The stage design mage some crazy hit factors a reality, Emile my teammate shot the pre-match and even with some minor mistakes achieved impossible Hit Factors on some stages. He realized long course stages with a 10 hit factor ! An one with a full Alpha !!! Ok, try to compete with that now!

There was different strategies available, a lot of plates and popper and mini-poppers, not a lot of bobbers but it was. already enough for me 🙂 Security was challenging, 20 shoters have been disqualified. It is a lot !

As always I shot Production Optics division with my CZ Shadow 2 Optic Ready with a 4 MOA Shield RMSx Red dot and the CZ customized with the EmmannTech ULTIMATE UPGRADE KIT. Not a single problem, everything worked fine…Except me but it is another story.

I finished 2nd in Production Optics in Super Senior, 2% after my German usual competitor and at 60% of Emile. I shot too many “C” (17%) and was too slow.
I will try to defeat him next weekend at the 2024 Infinity Open in Philippsburg.
