Late here is my feedback on my first participation in the Extreme Euro Open 2017 in the Czech Republic.

It’s quite far ! There is a 12-hour drive to Hodonice where the match takes place, but sincerely it was worth the trip. Match IPSC Handgun Level 3 with 650 rounds minimum to shoot, 30 stages. We know why we move, it’s 10 courses per half day. Some organizers should take the seed. 850 shooters on a week with 2 Main Match. Next year they will go up to 1150 shooters with the match on 5 half-days forever 30 stages, to make more money but without bringing anything in addition. It’s a total 7 days trip … I will not go, too long and many shooters said the same thing, we’ll see if they persist

It was very hot on Thursday afternoon for the first courses it was 37 ° c in the shade … and there was no shade 🙂 They had nevertheless installed tents on the courses to accommodate the shooters but not everyone could lodge underneath. So umbrella and plenty of water compulsory. On Friday morning, it rained when we arrived and we finished around 12:30 with 32 ° c. When on Saturday morning, the thermometer gave 40 ° C when we left the hotel!
The courses were not particularly difficult, of the 30 courses had bobbers or runners. Plenty of plates and poppers. Not too great distances, overall with big IPSC targets but with a lot of non-shoot that did not let appear much of the target.

The first half-day was very hard, 5 misses … I pulled too fast without trying to accommodate my sight (my problem of operation of the eye still not adjusted), the majority of the miss was on fixed papers!

The second half day was definitely better, no miss and many more good things.

The last half day was mixed. Twice I shouted a bobber that did not fall, I heard of course the impact on the metal, except that I only saw it once :-(, one more miss. Last stage where Fabrice had the best time, we will remember 🙂 I do 2 misses on the same paper at 10m !!! Not understood.
I have generally shot well with my temporary handicap (I hope), always a problem between my strategy and the realization where I do something else … especially on bobbers 🙁

My new CZ Shadow 2 worked, not a single incident on the 730 shots fired under this heat. It would have been a pity when he returned home next to his place of manufacture 🙂

I finished in Overall to 56.71% at the 149th place on 315 shooters in Production. In senior I am at 70.52% and 21th out of 45. I wanted to finish in the first tier, goal not reached, I explain this on my eye problem 🙂

It was a very good experience, nice squad, but I finished on the kneecaps and not only because of the evening of Saturday night!
