DAA Lynx Belt

IPSCSTORE sent me the new IPSC belt from Double Alpha Academy, the Lynx! There wasn’t much innovation possible on the IPSC belts, they were more or less hard and you had a few colors to choose from. Our friend Saul from DAA tried again to find something new and innovative … to do business of course 🙂

His idea was that you make your own belt from plastic clips that you assemble with pins. The clips have on the inside of the velcro to be able to hang on the sub-belt. The clips are of different colors to let us choose to customize our belt. The final benefit should be a belt that fits better to the body of the shooter, that takes less space to store it in his bag of shooting, that we customize at will.

You just have to measure your waist and check via the IPSCSTORE site the number of clips you need, choose the colors, don’t forget to order the kit with the belt buckle, the pins, the little tool to put or remove the pins and the spare o-ring for the belt.

My friend Thierry came to the club one night with this belt and I was intrigued by its originality. 

So I put mine together and used it for the first time at the Master 2021 match in Chateauroux. Honestly I see a real difference compared to the other belts I used in the past. It clings very well to the underbelt (the buckle even seems optional because it clings so well), I had no problem attaching my holster and my Ghost magazine holders. The whole thing is very rigid, close to the body and can now be stored in my shooting bag and no longer be hung outside. I have been shooting since the Bul Cup in Germany, after these 2 matches it is sure that I will keep it and that I will not return to a “classic” belt.

The assembly (see the video below) takes 30mn, there is no particular difficulty. You just have to think about how to put the colored clips according to the position of the holster and the magazine holders.
