I shoot in Production Optics since last year with my CZ Shadow 2. I had a CZ SP01 in backup with a red dot mounted on a CZ Custom plate installed on the rising dovetail. It was not very pretty but it worked.
Now that we can machine the slide to facilitate the mounting of the red dots (Rule Book 2019), I decided to give my friend Rémy from Alfa Precision my CZ SP01 Shadow to mile it to install my Shield Mini-Sight red dot directly on it.
The integration is perfect, the Shield fits well in machined pins and is locked firmly. The red dot is very low on the hand there is no problem to “find” it after the draw.
This is the Shield Mini-Sight that I used all the last season, he shot more than 25,000 rounds without any problem, I never had to redo the settings. I installed for the new season on my Shadow 2 the Shield that I had on this SP01 and which had never really served, just to leave for this new season with a new red dot.
Last year at the Extreme Euro in Czech or at the French National Championships, twice I did wrong and I took the red dot of the fiber front sight instead of the red dot of the Shield … And the big moment of loneliness, why the popper does not fall while the red dot is centered on it and that I did not tear like a savage …? The time I understand the error, the clock was running 🙂 On the video of the stage at the French National we can see an impact in the mound 1m above the plate 🙂
I have since changed the front sight fiber in green, so if I see a red dot … green … It’s not the red dot!
But I still need to break a little wrist to catch the red dot, this problem will disappear with the mounting directly on the slide of the Shadow 2.
So I made a little video to celebrate!
