Infinity Open 2018

Last weekend we shot the 2018 Infinity Open in Philippsburg, Germany.
Match Handgun Level III with 19 stages for less than 400 moves.
Very good weather on Saturday, sun all day. I start like a diesel (as usual) and especially I start the 3rd stage with a magazine filled with 5 rounds only … Surprise, surprise! It’s been a long time since I’ve done it 🙂

I only have one real jam, a case stuck in the chamber, unfortunately it was on a 24 shots stages ;-( I managed to extract it by typing like a brute and I was able to finish the stage not to have it to zero, but with 30s too much compared to others.
Otherwise I overall shot well, 4 misses in total! including 3 on bobbers or up and down … Lack of training! And the fourth on a series of 3 targets, I passed quickly in shooting just as fast … At the time I thought I had sent strong … You surprise me, there was one outside 🙂

It was my first match in Production Optics, the red dot Shield SMS held up on my CZ Shadow 2 🙂 I had been able to fix it the day before at the stand of Alpha Precision at 13m … .So I had a moment of loneliness arriving at the metal at 55m, I did not know exactly how I had to aim. But I was able to make them fall in 3 shots in total … The anguish is down :-).

We fired the second day in the rain, we are protected during the wait but some courses were completely flooded because the firing points are not covered them. It was dangerous in some cases, and at one point they brought sand to try to fill the puddles. And then it’s painful to get out of the mask and snorkel to go find its chargers at the end of the course 🙂 Cleanings repeated all day between courses to avoid problems.

It was a game for young, there was a lot to run! A lot of bobbers and some very good German mechanism quirks!

Since this is not allowed, there will be no film from this competition.

I finished 2nd in Senior with 83.78% and 9th in Overall with 71.50%. The first 3 are Germans, I saw shooting one … a young rocket 🙂
In the end AST Roissy made three podiums, with Emile winning in Open Overall, his father Thierry 3rd in Open Super Senior and me 2nd in Senior Production Optics.
It is now necessary to train for the Extreme Euro Open 2018 in the Czech Republic because last year there were bobbers on 80% of courses!
